About The row of houses was a good subject for trying a shot, but how could composition be improved? I'd be very glad for any comments.

A life in silence

Darkest day

Sharp and soft architectural accents

... and go!

Mountain breath

Water and steel

The water at the feet of the mountain

... that were only the results ...

The twisted ladder

Thanks a lot for the nice and so detailed comment, Doyle! I guess indeed that there was no other way, and still I wished those cars weren't there. or perhaps distributed differently? Hard to say, indeed, but I am very glad to see that we do all converge toward the same point here, since Toni also pointed out that there is no "easy" answer about composition here.

Thanks a lot again!

As already said, Dave, it would be nice if the cars were not there. Thanks a lot for the nice comment again!

If only those cars were parked somewhere else! ;-)

Thanks a lot again Gustavo!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the suggestion, Tony! The left side of the road was indeed better as it was free of cars that interrupted the street's leading line. But that games of shadows and lights on the walls on the left side... I just wanted to have them. So, a hard question for me is, if it would be possible to have both the leading line and those lights at the same time. There must be indeed some position and some angle which makes it possible, but I didn't find that.

Thanks a lot again!

I like this one Nick. Cool composition with an oh so gentle clockwise spiral. Flashes of color and lots of detail make this an enticing subject with a lot for the eye to seek out. While I grant that you'd like to hear how the composition could be improved, I'd be hard pressed to find a suggestion. I think this is almost the only POV that would give this effect. The variety of colors and textures on the left (cars, walls, etc) and the interplay of light and shadow make a fascinating view . . . I like it as is. :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

I like your composition here, Nick and the way you've captured the hill.

Muy buena foto, la perspectiva es muy interesante, y las luces producen unas sombras excelentes, un muy buen momento para la foto.

Un abrazo!

Good shot Nick. It's difficult to see how composition could be improved. It's such a narrow street!! Perhaps if you had been positioned more to the left rather than the right side of the road.

I like the shadows on the houses.
