If viewing this photo, take a second to critique it! Taken at Ocean View area in Norfolk. This pipe is simple, but I tried to compose so it would appear huge in forefront and tapering off smaller and smaller in the distance.
It appears to be \'blown out\' but that was my intent. I wanted the surrounding water to be a light gray and have the pipe tapering into some unknown void. Photoshop 7 was used to frame only (the blown out effect is from metering just the very dark pipe, thus tricking the camera to over compensate for a \'dark\' subject).
Shutter: 1/23 sec, Aperture: f/5.7, Shot handheld in Aperture Priority mode (as it was distant lighting in the sky, and I didnt want my tripod to be a lightning rod hahaha).
I really find I like B/W photography and wish to improve. Any advice is welcome! -- Rod
