Hello, this is same rose as "Rose" in my portfolion. I love photos by Ken Anderson, so decided to try to create something similar. Used photoshop to desaturate at -70. Since the rose is so bright red, compared to the rest of the foliage, I figure -70 saturation would put all at near-b&w, yet give the rose a nice, subdued tint, as if I took a B&W photo and penciled in color. The desaturated version takes on a painting quality, which is quite pleasing. IMO the sharpness and DOF are a bit weak, but all-in-all a nice presentation.
