About I had the pleasure of instucting a group of keen photographers on an outing associated with a four week course at the Moray Arts Centre in Findhorn we were treated to a very pleasant sunset and slowly the group melted away when the evening chill took hold. The colours became an outrageous blend of deep blue from the twilight sky above and deep crimson red which I managed to partially reflect in the drainage lines of a tidepool and the snaking "S" of a drainage stream.

NEW!! Photographic Workshops at TRANSIENT LIGHT.

Great one Ian - the best colours more often comes only well after sunset and you captured it superbly. A pleasing composition with strong lines leading towards the deep red horison. I appreciate the wonderful textures that is revealed in faint light on the dark foreground - lovely image!

Hello Cathy this was 90 minutes!! after sunset. At this time of year the light lingers for ages turning a deep shade of crimson given the right conditions. The sky directly above is indigo rather than blue which gives rise to the deep blue shadows. Time approx 11.15pm.

This is truly gorgeous. I was talking to my daughter tonight, she is in Scotland for the next few months. She explained that sunset there is very late in the evening there. What time would this have been taken? It is dark here at 6 pm.
I love the fiery sky. CC

Wow, Ian! This shot is nothing short of amazing! My eyes are drawn out to sea with the tidepool drains, and the lighting is dreamy. Fantastic job!
