mervo you are fabulous! ive just started experimenting with full body shots, and your advice will most definitly help me. thanks for being such a great help. =]
I think that you need at least a decent speedlite if you're gonna be doing stuff like this with backdrop. Speaking of backdrop, it's not that great - and TOO close to the subject. The idea is to leave the background far enough away to have it out of focus (if you're going to be using sheets!), and to have it lit (if you have the available lights).
The pose is nice but neither here nor there. I think you'd have been better having the whole subject in the frame, maybe having her standing against a funky wall outside somewhere - something of contrast. The sheet, the onboard flash shadow and over-exposure in parts really spoils what does have the potential to be a great shot.
Go on, grab Brooke and go find some sort of funky man made backdrop - maybe use some fill flash with your on board flash but don't use too much - you get horrible shadows and they are distracting.
Sorry to be so negative, trying to be constructive - you have a great eye!
Brooke and you do well. Suggestions: -her whites are saturated around her tummy, set EV at -1 or -2 -the blanket behind her has cracks, have her stand a bit more forward and choose a smaller aperture In general, good to see new talent, keep going !
