Now this is good photography IMHO.
Nice catch light in the eyes, great shallow DOF, good crop and you kept the main thing the main thing... ;)
You also know all of the data, which will be very helpful to you in the future.
I have tutored many people on line and after about 3 to 6 months the tell me to take a hike, because everyone on this site tells them what a great job they are doing after totally destroying a good capture in PS. They can't shoot to save their butts, but they think that they can with PS.
I have been shooting since I was very young and took my 1st formal class in the 5th grade. I am 46 now and I'm still learning the basics of photography every day.
You seen here in the states it's football season and do you know what each and every team will be doing in training camp? Basics, once again. Every year they keep doing the same basic rules to gain a better knowledge of what they did wrong the last time.
I guess I'll just off of my soap box now, but I can't express enough about using basic photography to make your captures better for years to come... ;)
You see you must 1st know what the rules are, so you can break them...
