About If an inhabitant of Crete says that all Cretans are liars, who should you believe ? The solution of this well known paradox "lies" in practice:
If a woman in an angry mood says NO, it means simply YES. If she says YES it mostly means also YES :-)

Cycladic art is the art and sculpture of the ancient Cycladic civilization, existing in the islands of the Aegean Sea from 3300 - 2000 BCE. Art mainly manifested itself in the form of marble idols, often used as offerings to the dead. Idols possessed a flat, geometric quality, giving them a striking resemblance to today's modern art. A majority of the figuirines are female, depicted nude, and with arms folded across the stomach. It is unknown whether these idols depict a goddess, or merely Cycladic women.

Thanks for your kind comment Robert. In fact streets and all places outside the museum are some sort of contemporary art museum. Enjoy these all.
All the best,
Paul

You are welcome John. Try with clay instead of rocks. Use the same two tools as for your camera and you will see some satisfactory results very soon.
Best regards,
Paul

Once more thank you dear Srna. You are too kind to me. My days are beautiful indeed as I experience all gifts of so many moments fitting in just one day. You are adding even more of these moments.
Warm and thankful hugs, Paul

Good shot... and even better that they left you to take that shot lol... it's impressive how these people can do these... if you give me a rock and even with the best tools I do just... small pieces of rocks... no way to do a statue... :-)

I am more into the non verbal. One day a nice young lady started hitting me in the kitchen while i was cooking diner for us. I put the gas supply on stop and put up the heat in another place.

"So No means No if she is not angry" I did not say Harry. It is even more complicated as she says YES or NO, better is not to listen to that spoken binary expression, but understand the feeling behind somewhere in between fully YES and fully NO.
Today you have to work on this :-)
Prettige zondag,
Paul

Dear Michele, I'm glad that you find this sculpture and its about such interesting and nice. I admit that sometimes my reasoning could be equally valid if inversed or even being considered as wrong :-)
In discussion we always learn, share and sometimes enjoy.
Many hugs and kiss from me, enjoy your weekend.
Paul

Yes Marian, I travelled a lot in 2007, but I do not know if that also means I saw a lot. I hope so. At least I aim always for fine tones :-) Thank you for your comment.
hugs and kisses,
Paul

Hi Jen, yes please find out what it means if people from Crete say telling always the truth. If you ask them if they agree and nodding yes with the head that really means NO for them. But what you believe goes always beyond the words and the visible. I hope you will enjoy your trip this week with surprising results in your thoughts and pictures.
Travel well and for now good night,
hugs and kiss,
Paul

Let me find out on Crete this week Paul, maybe I could have some interviews there, but then I am sure you have tried the best ones already, maybe you might start asking here wether we mean Yes when saying No....:)) Such a challenge!!
Be well and sweet dreams, Jen

Dear Arif, thank you for your comment. I'm glad you appreciate the sculpture. The about will make some ladies reluctant to comment, some do with a smile, some possibly with irritation. This choise is not up to me :-) Then some will comment, first of all some friends, also some curious I do not know yet, always a challenge, or just to say hi, or enjoy the picture only for its mood, composition and color. All comments I highly appreciate and let's admit that YES is slightly more positive than NO :-)
As you certainly know in Greece, non verbal communication, nodding the head meaning yes and no is always confusing for foreigners.
all my best,
Paul

Thank you dear Srna, glad that you appreciate this statue. I wished the artist could tell me how and why it was made like this. Time has wiped out all memories as also time heals all wounds.
