Oops, did I missed that fence wire, Stan? Where is it?
Thanks a lot indeed for the dedication. And hope that you are doing fine too?

Hi Nick, so good to hear from you. I missed seeing and hearing from you. Hope you find the image I dedicated to you weeks ago. I shot an old grain elevator with my T90 in B/W. Also a fence wire. I will find the links and post them to you. I hope all is well with you. Be well, Stan

And as I see now, after such a long time from my last message, the crane did came out so well on that image, Stan!
Cheers!

Thanks Hakan, your comment is so appreciated. I looked at your portfolio and saw a kindred spirit. I too walk away from the madness of the world to find solace in my view of the life I see around me with my camera. Be well, Stan

I did use the clone somewhat mostly I used the healing brush..... Sometimes the clone won't match the surrounds so well and the healing brush does.....But where you meet different shades in your image it does not work so well so you have to switch modes with it at the top from normol to replace.....Youll see it at the top of ps screen where you set like the opacity. Youll see it in one of the drop down menues...Im not very good at it as well but learn a bit more everytime I use it .....Hope this helps you a bit Stan.

Looks Great Paul!! Well done and point taken, makes the watch the focal point.. Did you do this with the clone or something else?? I am stumbling through PS and learning bits as I go. Just not real proficient yet. You passed the test on this one. Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate that. Be well, Stan

I felt up to a challenge this morning.....Hope you don't mind me trying to remove the rock..... Thought Id see what you might think of it....I liked the photo so much that I wanted to see what difference it would make in overall impact....:) Do you think it works?

Thanks Paul, That whitish mark was a white rock laying near the watch. I took the shot as it was seen from the other side of the fence. I would have removed the rock if I could have reached it. Not good enough at cloning to tackle this one. Thanks for the comment and feedback. Be well, Stan

Nicely captured. Good strong line and used of shadows. Excellent textures and lighting. Wish the gum or whatever that whitish mark is was not present for it really would have made the image much better. Thanks for sharing....

So it goes when we don't only look but really observe, Stan. (As Holmes said so many times. ;-)) And your observation was really rewarded!
Just keep it up, observing in all possible directions!

Hi Nick, thanks for the nice detailed comment. I found this watch laying like this and shot it as it lay on the walk. I only walked into the moment of time with it, took a couple of shots and left it as it was. I was rewarded for looking down! I guees it was worth my time and yours as well. Be well, Stan

Such a great abstract, and even more such a great *concept* for making an abstract! It somehow reminds me of the molten watches on Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" but with a more modern appeal that keeps even less objects of composition for achieving its goals.
And it has an excellent tonal range, as the details on the shadows and the highlights tell us. The almost latent vignetting seems to concentrate my eyes onto the very subject - it works like a guardian if my attantion!
The superb plasticity of the watch and the nice reflections on it stand in a good contrast to the rest of the shadowy image. Good both for contrast as also for welcome tension. It somehow combines much to say and complete silence.
Very exrpessive work!
Nick

Hi Harry, I left it where it was lying. The church is behind a locked gate and a no trespassing sign, so was the watch. Thought the person might come back to look for. There was no Priest and police were in a sheriff office somewhere in western Montana watching the news. This was at a historical site of a church built by Pioneers of the Boulder Valley in 1880-1881. I think it is open for special services but am not sure. Just was passing by. Be well Harry, Stan

Well seen and captured, Stan! The shadows over the watch seem to give it a dramatic aspect. BTW, I'm in Winnipeg, we've only had one light frost here so far. It's been a very nice fall! Dave.
