This is a not-so-common "Red on Green" fall color I stumbled on, while I was trying to get a good glimpse of Bald Eagles which returned for the winter again. This Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia), a native shrub to North America, contributes to the spectacular color changes of the season here in the midwest. Consider it a grand finale of colors before the white stuff (snow) returns and predominates the landscape in a few weeks. Ahhh, the fun of change of seasons!!
