Scott, curious as to the time of day this was taken. If it was after the sun was down, that might explain the blue tones. The later in the evening a shot is taken, can result in a blue'sh tone. You didn't remark on exposure times and shutter speed so it's a bit hard to determine more about how it was taken.
I would tweak with it in PS. Possibly adjust curves, and dodge and burn a bit.
This demonstrates an alternative portrait background. I like the angle and compostion but the exposure seems to be off. If this is snow or beach, a reading from her face or other darker object will produce better results.
I'm not sure why this happened, but her face is a lot bluer than the rest of her body. Her shoulders have such warmth, but it seems lost on her face. Which is too bad, since i think that a warmer hue on her face would have separated her from the background a bit more and made this a great image.
