About I'm not sure of details. I do know I use manual focus..but I probably used the sport mode on the camera settings.

I am trying very hard on this landscape project. Bear with me as I post for advice and attempts:)

Thank you Sarah for your comment. I do like the graininess of print film now and then just because the pictures do have a tendency to look like oil paintings. Yes, the sport mode does give a shallow DOF when used. When something starts happening really fast such as these birds taking off in flight I usually just flip over to sport mode so that I can try to get the action. I always use the manual focus tho. Have learned how that auto focus can focus on just about anything?:)

Debbie, I like the colours on this, and it reminds me of a painting.
If you used the sports setting, then you would have got quite a shallow depth of field. When I use this setting on my EOS that is what usually happens.
I think the shallow depth works well here because the birds are the main focus and the background makes them stand out.
