thanks for your comments Chris..you certainly have some nice pics in your portfolio. So picturesque the old UK. Much different in oz you have to search out for things..we have great beautiful empty landscapes here. That little church I took are all slowly disappearing into brick and the wooden colonial house too...I'll take at your other pics..regards Roger

Thanks for your response Chris. I haven't worked out how to reply to people yet - It is a shot of a shallow stream with a few leaves and rocks poking up, and pine needles rather like iron filings in magnetic formation. I visited this hill three weeks ago, for the first time. Great shot.

Beautiful setting Chris, and I really like the soft hazy background. That's an impressively steep hill in the foreground-- looks like a very tough pull for a car?

Hi Chris:
From the looks of this, there must be plenty of work for skilled roofers in Shaftesbury. I can't imagine how the composition could be any better, given the way the street gracefully curves away, leading the eye through the entire scene in a smooth arc. The exposure and the light quality are also just about dead on perfect. The shadow detail, especially, is excellent. A superb scene superbly photographed. --Jim

What a beautiful place. Paradise for a photographer!!! Lighting seems very hard at the time you took the picture... Never the less I like it very much.

Why does the word 'Hovis' leap into my head? ;-)
a beautiful place, and a fantastic capture. I do think the whites are a little over exposed, but then I am viewing on an uncalibrated monitor so it could be me. (I'll look again when I'm home)
Good work Chris.
