Thanks so much for your opinion... This was a shot taken very quickly on the highway while I was traveling in the car also... I just saw the motorcycle... and the line on the road and thought it would have been a great photo... I also liked how the rider wasn't a typical "motorcycle" guy.
I totally understand where you are coming from about the background and the focus point being cut off. I'll remember that for next time! :)
Were you in a vehicle passing by, or on the side of the road? At any rate, it must have been a quick capture and you did a good job of placing the bike in the frame, especially at such a close angle. I don't mind having the motorcycle cut off on the right because it looks like he's just entering the frame, however it would be nice to see the entire bike from top to bottom, wheels and all. It's almost there!
This is just personal preference, but when I see a shot of a car, motorcycle or "other" on the highway, I like to see a little more scenery (unless you're focusing on something very specific about the vehicle or driver). Sometimes it adds a nice context, or the shape of the road can add some interesting lines.
Also, try to get some shots of vehicles coming towards you. Faces can add interest to a photo, if you can manage to capture them!
