This was taken at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta on Sunday evening, October 5th during the balloon glow. 700+ balloonists inflated their balloons so they were upright but not enough to take flight. As an announcer counted down from 10, the balloonist would crank up the propane providing this glow you see here. I was like a kid in a candy store. Couldn't decide what picture to take next. Compared to my handheld shots, this picture proves the value of a tripod. Comments are always welcome. I wished I had gotten the basket and balloonist and that the balloon was more perpendicular. Anything else?
You did a very good job. I took some photos at the St Louis Balloon race ... not nearly as large as the Albuquerque event that you may wish to compare. There has been several other balloon photos over the past few months. I think it is a great subject and a lot of fun to shoot! Some day I hope to join you in Albuquerque!
