Larry, I see what you mean. Initially I thought that I should alter it the way you did in your third version -to really highlight the subject, but then I sortof liked the idea of the lights leading up to the church in the background and I left it.
As for the clarity of the pic: I was not happy with the fact that I did not have a portrait lense on me at the time. And I was forced to use the motorzoom lense, which I have now discarded completely -too much electronics that gets in the way! And, the image is never as clear as you want it to be.
Cool picture, concept, and model. I like the starkness of it. However, it could do with a contrast boost, and possibly some cropping of the left side of the image. I think the red wall detracts from the starkness of the image, which is the aspect of this image that appeals most to me. The attached picture is what I did with it in Photoshop to demonstrate my comment. I'll also post two more versions, to offer even more variations on this image that I feel will bring the viewer's eyes more directly to your model. This is just my opinion, so you certainly don't want to take it as gospel. :) But, again, cool image, Alex. :)
