About Another shot of Lake Minnewanka, which in Native Indian means Spirit Lake. They believe that a huge melt buried a town under the waters and now the inhabitants of the lake can be seen every once in a while.
I didn't capture the greeness of the lake, but I liked the peacefulness of this location. My husband added in for human content, since most of my images are lacking that! *grin* Would appreciate comments on how to make it look more natural, not like I said " Hey, Fraser, go stand down by the water."

I think I should have used the ND Grad on this because of the hot sky.

This is definately my favorite in your portfolio, which was a hard choice because you have some amazing shots, and some very nice floral work especially.

This is such a beautiful scene. I think the colors you captured in the water are superb. The scenery is almost unreal, that something this perfect still exists, I hope to visit is someday. My only reccomendations would be to maybe find a location on the level with the person and cast more light on him to create a stronger silohette. It is a very strong shot either way, nice work.

I like the silouette of the person. I thnk it adds a great deal to the photo. It would be interesting to see this with a grad, but it might take out too much detail from the background cliffs. Then again, it might be just what is needed.

Kim, your images look superb in thumb size but so far all that I've opened have been blurry. Is this a scan probelm?

Maybe the way to avoid the "hey, Fraser, go stand down by the water" look is to have him doing something. You know, like fishing. Or reading. Or working on an old car.

Actually, it's not so much the sky that's hot, but the snow on the mountains. I like the contrast between the black and blue near the bottom of the photo (though I wouldn't go any darker as you're starting to lose a bit of detail there too). Fraser looks good (?!?! :p) and the contemplative pose is quite natural (and I agree about making him look more ahead or to the right). Now if he had been looking right at the camera with a toothy smile and a goofy pose - THAT would have been a bit artificial. :)

Great wilderness picture. Just what was said about the neurtral density grad or a bit of manipulation in PS to darken the sky a tad

Both the idea and the composition are very good. Having people in landscapes always give good scale and a sense of begin there. I agree that it would've been better if he faced into the shot a little more. The composition might also be more balanced if he was placed on the left side of the frame, to counter the dominance of the mountain in the back. And yes, an ND grad probably would've helped.

Very nice, Kim. It's a beautiful scene, and your husband works very well as human content. Maybe I'd prefer it just a bit if he were looking more into the scene rather than out of the frame, but that's a small point. And, yeah, and ND grad would have helped. Maybe you could play with curves a bit in the upper portion.

Great picture Kim,
I love the colros, the composition... the way the man stands, giving a scale to the scene, and the way he is looking makes me look at the far horizon, smelling the fresh air, listning to the silence, and wondering of the beauty of that place... wow
