Good morning Hugo, many thanks for your kind comment on "Man Made 2", it was something different for me. I try to train my eyes to see, and this means trying differnet styles of photos, that is why Usefilm is so good because i get to appreciate the work of others - like yourself. You seem to have booked the Main pages lately :) each day when i look there is another photo from you gracing the "top photo" spot or "featured critiques". You deserve it and you have some really nice photos in your Portfolio. I enjoyed going back through it to see how you've developed over time. Great Stuff. Greetings as alway from the mountains of Switzerland to the flat plains of Holland (i'm sure you understand my humour) Have a nice one, Neil

Hi Hugo,

You have really impressive, excellent portfolio.
This is one of my favorites. Great colours, perfect crop.

Thanks for your comment on my "takeoff", but there is a fountain
in the centre of Oslo, with the fence around, which is roughly unavoidable
in this case, moreover the gull was in a hurry :))

regards

Hugo,

I like this - if you put it down on the ground it feels as if one could play hop-scotch on it.

I just wanted to respond to your flash comment. You are right, I had not other choice the chair was next to a large window lit by very strong, early morning sun - with her behind the rails and the strong side-light it was the only way to bring her into view. I do get sick of flash issues sometimes. Last night when she was taking a bath I got some fun shots of her dumping water over her head and the stop on the water and sculptural aspects of it were fascinating, however, a flash was very necessary so I have those blasted shadows behind her...ugh.

Mary

btw regarding your flash issue on the one communication photo - if you look back a bit in my portfolio I did a series with some longer exposures with zoom effects done with the lens - I had to use a flash on the interior shots otherwise the movement wasn't there or effective...

This caught my eye in your portfolio, Hugo. Probably the most interesting study of "windows" I've seen. Very, very cool. I always ask myself how I would have shot a subject like this. I probably would have opted for a "straight on" shot from a distance and the effect wouldn't have been near as interesting. You've a good eye for capturing something like this.

Glad you found my portfolio and had such interesting remarks.

Dave

Hugo, this is really nice work! I like your choice of angles, just the right view up, and shows the seperation of colors nicely. Thanks for your recent kind comment on my "toes" photo. I welcome your feedback.

Hi, thanks for you nice comments and for you suggestion. My screen is not the best and from now on, I'll take a greater care about the contrast.
Your image is just superb. What I appreciate (and try to do sometimes on my photo) is to seize abstraction in real scenes.

Great work !

Happy new year.

Very nice capture. Too bad that the depth of field is slightly insufficiënt. Do you know the painter "Mondriaan": you should compare this picture with some of his cubistic abstract work.
