About Taken at the Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver, which is indoors. Used a flashlight throughout the exposure to light the inside of the tulip and add a glow. This is another digital picture of a slide so I'm hoping that the quality is the same.

Kim - I like this tulip shot. Vibrant colour and the inner glow works well. I am distracted by the black stamen peeking through. It holds the eye too long on one hand, but it does add visual tension. I agree we have similar photo interests and you'll see more of mine as the days go by. Thanks for viewing and giving helpful comments on my images. Cheers from Ontario - Bill

A delight to behold. I love the colours and the light... so luminescent.

When you were using the flashlight, did you point it up from the bottom of the flower? I don't know if it's just the illusion of the yellow streaks, but there is a wonderful effect of light eminating from the top of the stem up and through the petals. Tres cool!

Beautiful, sharp colour. Personally, I like the bit of brown in the middle, though my favourite is the luminous green stem. The composition is good, though I might have tried tilting the camera so the flower and stem ran perfectly diagonal through the frame. This might have brought even more drama into the photo (although it might have looked cliche as well).

The top of the photo starts to get a little soft. Is it that way in the print? Make sure you're not using a shallow DOF when you're taking the digital pics!

Nice creative work here Kim. It does have a glow about it. The black stamen? is bothering me a bit.

I really like the beautiful, rich colors in this shot, Kim! The glow effect turned out very nicely, and I think the quality of light from the flashlight imparted a really luxurious warmth overall! I don't see any real degradation in the quality from the way you reproduced it - at least not at this resolution. There is one piece that looks a little oversharpened on the stem of the tulip, forming a fringe, but otherwise it's excellent!

It is all about the color, at least that is what your composition is telling me. Good idea for the glow, maybe even a brighter light. Glad to see your slides, they look great here.

Great color. It's like a painting.

Thanks for the flashlight tip. I will consider it as a potential light source for my photos too.
