Hey Ron, Great model and well executed picture with good composition, color, and lighting - nice! You've got a good portfolio - but need to get more posted so we can have a chance to see what your truly capable of... And thanks for the kind words - I wish I was working for SI or ESPN! Maybe it will be in the cards sometime, but at the moment I'm working hard on practice, details, and trying hard to understand how best to work with environmental conditions. I see too many sports photographers ending up at an envent with poor conditions (mostly lighting) and ultimately wind up taking non-action photos because they don't have the right equipment or don't know how to use their cameras for those conditions - it's hard work, but has been truly rewarding! drop me a line at darthur@all-llc.com.

Ron, you got some good comments on this shot, comments that help all of us improve which is the joy of photography, the is no end to learning how to do better. I see your point in filling in all the fields with camera info, I never really thought about it as I think that is the least important aspect of capturing the beauty in someone. However, I do see it's merit and going forward I will try to add more info on the technique so if someone likes it they can try it, and if they don't they will know to avoid it! :)
Keep shooting!
Mark

Ron - this is a very good portrait of a beautiful model. I also appreciate your comments regarding submissions.

Interesting comment Roger... I was actually going to say that the color didn't work. Her skin has a red hue to it, so the blue contrasts with it highly. Of course it could be the factor that her body is turned at such an angle that it puts undo wrinkles in her neck, causes her elbow to jut out, and her dress to flare in the front.

I personally think that the dress probably should have been something a little more hugging, instead of trying to create a figure from the dress. The model definately has a nice figure, and should be able to display it without the "added" padding...

Lighting wise... Very good. Although a slight fill from on the right would help take the hollow out of the back.

I too agree with you in the factor that members need to fill their cameras, lens, and film information... quite often I'm trying to reproduce what I see and I can't due to the simple issues...

Thanks for sharing.

Lovely Model, nice expression and Nice colors. To me the pose with the elbow jutting out toward the camera seems to throw the model's porportions off a bit.
