Thanks for all the comments on this photo. i belive that the main problem with this photograph is "camera shake". The wide DoF needed required a long shutter setting. Idealy this shot should have been taken using a tripod but I only had a monopod available and did not want to miss the most important part of the shot the colours. As with most photography comprimise comes into play.

That being said I will take more care in future when I downsize photo's for this site.

Best wishes

Sid

Yeah - in agreement again, top stuff but presentation lets it down.

I find saving as TIFF or PSD till you've finished meddling stop you getting loads of JPEG "Artifacts" - blemishes.

The other time you may get problems is when shrinking it for here, I use PS or IFRANVIEW, the latter being free.

It's top photo though

I have to agree with Ian, Sid. This one looks like a beauty but presents as out-of-focus. I too have had trouble with the upload on certain images and still don't know why. Please let me know if you learn the secrets of the compression goblins! Regards.

Sid, I'm sure the original of this is terrific as the subject, the reflection and the colours look wonderful, it's the compression which lets down the presented image. I just looked at your bio and it's clear you know what you are doing at the photo taking stage if you are teaching it! However most of your images in your portfolio seem to have compression problems. As I said I'm even more sure now it's not the originals but it's hard to give objective critique if the posted version loses so much quality.
