Thanks, Peter. I actually took the picture over a year ago. I'm pretty sure that I scanned from a print, but its possible that it was a scan done by Blacks, from 100 ASA store label Fuji clide film.
In any event, I don't think I sharpened it at all.

This photo creates such a fantastic mood of desolation, of something once loved and now lost, that it's a great pity that the image seems to have suffered itself!
Did you sharpen this image? I experience a similar effect trying to sharpen images with a lot of vegetation, using settings I would generally use for photographs with a lot of bold lines. I usually halve my figures for plant life. (I use Breeze Browser for sharpening by the way).
It would also be great to use some saturation here, as the image feels a little washed out. But, I humbly retract this suggestion if this was your intention.
All that said (IMHO of course) - I do like this - Rest assured that I only bother to comment on images now that capture my intention and move me to words.
