Kim, Many thanks for your wonderful comments. I am fairly new to digital photography and even more so to post editing. I use ArcSoft PhotoStudio 2000 which is nowhere near what some of the other editing programs can do.You are correct on the bg being too similar to the main subject. I'll try to avoid that in the future. Learning from others is key.

The DOF here is handled really well... makes the middle of the lily stand out wondefully. I wonder about the brightness of the bg though... seems to be in competition with the main flower. Perhaps a little bit of burning would help this. Still, a wonderful flower macro... I can never find interesting ways to shoot lilies... but you've managed very well here!

Ozjan, Did you use a tripod for your shot I am refering to? Just curious. I should mention that the lilly shot I posted was taken with a P&S Minolta,5MP (G500) that takes exceptional images. One of the better compacts IMO. Best.... Bill Webster

Thanks Bill for you comments and that has brought me here to comment on this lovely lily indeed. You have managed to maintain great details. The colors and contrast are wonderful. I am using SONY -MVC-FD92. A real old one and the reason I have got such results in my photo was due of going to the maximum Image Size that my poor camera can provide me witch is 1472. Cheers Bill.
