Callisto, Io, Europa and Ganymede... the four you can see wiff low telescope power. Great shot. Camera wide angle, telescope narrow view. Excellent perspective.

Yes, a piggyback mount is next on my list of things to purchase. I actually did capture comet Neat, but it's a rather unimpressive photo as my telescope currently lacks a drive motor. So all I've got is a very faint fuzzball. Comet Neat is not as bright as I would have hoped, and not visible to the naked eye from where I live.

Ryan,
A good start. What you probably want is a piggyback mount with a ball head or pan head to allow you to adjust the field of view of your camera not to include the scope. This is not necessary for lenses with longer focal lengths. A bit further west and you may have caught Comet NEAT!

Thanks for the welcome and the comment. I must say that I've been visiting this site for a while and love your "nightride" series. I'm looking forward to trying it myself, any suggestions?

welcome to usefilm,Ryan! :-)
i agree that this is an interesting perspective, with the telescope and the stars in the same image like that. light polluted areas are not helpful at all,but you managed to get a decent long exposure. keep shooting!
