your first splash is a good splash :B

i would suggest that you find someone to hold the spoon next time .. your camera needs both of your hands ;)

Dear Arwa,

If you want good work then this statment

" Please keep in mind that I had to hold both the camera and the spoon
and had my sister drop the fruit! "

is NOT acceptable.

1. You must have tripod by now dear ( please )
2. Next time watch out the highlight area in your subject.

In general, it is good trial and your works indicate to an excellent talent in you.

I am ager to see more of your works but using the necessary equipments and tools.

Regards,

i have did this before Arwa, and i think the most emportant thing is to get a tripod and set ur camera on a manual foucs for the exact point where u gona drop ur fruit(this is the best way to get ur object on foucs). anther thing, use good powerful lighting so u can use fast shutter speeds to get sharp bright result.
so, foucs and lighting was my problems for this kind of shots. About DOF its up to ur vision. just more fnumbers with fast shutter speeds wil require more lighting. this is what i understood. thanks

Try to shoot it again with a maximal depth of field (closed apparture) - it will increase the chance that you will catch it in focus...
anyway, Great shot.
