About This is a concept shot for a postcard/flyer for a friends new dress shop.
What do you think.
Will it make people want to walk in the front door?

ah, this is beautiful! looks oriental. the texture of the fabric is also great - should be perfect for a dress shop.

hi, thanks for explaining the disappearance of my previous comment..i said that i liked the simplicity/striking colors/clarity of texture and makes for a great abstract..as for promo flyer design, depends on who the target market is ..this design says "Chic", so good match for that level..regards,gayle

David: yes i think that the people want to go in to ask where they can find to the crazy person that took this picture to kick their bottom, hahahaha, is a bad joke, is a pretty pic and name.

Thanks John your comment is greatly appreciated.
The depth of field is about as much as I could achieve due to the magnification.
What your looking at is a 7X magnification of the actual fabric of two pieces of cloth laid one over the other.
The image is designed to initially grab your attention with the bold colours and shapes, but ultimately, the viewers focus should be drawn to the thread, and hopefully with that, a realisation as to what it is they are looking at.
I found that even the slightest bit more DOF created an even more unsettling effect on the eyes, so eventually settled on this.
Cheers

I like the strong graphic composition David but the limited depth of field, or intentional blur, is playing havoc with my vision. Regards John

Hi Alan.
The sign doesnt mean anything, but it could if we work on it.
Its a macro shot of two pieces of material, one laid over the other.
Like the step concept, glad I thought of it Haha ;)

Hi David,
I reckon that the colour contrasts are excellent. It makes me want to keep looking at it as its kinda 3 dimensional...it jumps out at you. Cool design. Excuse the ignorance but does that sign stand for something? It looks like a step to me so I guess it would "invite" people to walk in!
Cheers
Alan

Never saw it.
I added a line of info in the 'about' box after the original post.
The image must go offline when your editing and you may have sent it during that period of time.

What did you say :)
