What a transformation by the PS work. What we, the digital fellows, will do without the PS. Excellent skill.

Oh so beautiful! Such lovely fresh feeling of nature, and the chapel so far away from "crowd" looks so beautiful!
The attached original... Yes, now I understand your problem, it really is very dark! You are very good at fixing it and lighten it up, but I understand it would be very frustrating to always have to do that with all photos!

nice, fantastic detail on the small birds in the sky. I dont no about nikon. But to get yr pics more clear you most propably have to change settings in the lightmetering mode. Now yr camera exposes for the bright sky...Suggest you read and study camera setting.I know its not easy,I had a hard time learning to shoot with my canon 300D too. Hi Chris, in times of need, there's always Photoshop! Outstanding uphaul! The result is stunning, but the start was already there. I like the composition, and the spring warmth of the light and the fresh colours. Very good one. In this case, with the lighter colours in the frame, I think the frame is less intrusive than in the previous one, so no critique there...;o)
Cheers,
Hugo

This certainly demos your PS skills Chris. Did you take the oiginal in jpeg or raw mode? The straight out of the camera versions looks like a raw linear conversion.
I finally took the plunge and purchased a D70 yesterday. The larger senor, compared to the G3, certainly makes a difference.
Regards John

Excellent work Chris, hope the camera comes back soon - it would be interesting to know what they diagnose ? Hopefully it may just be a dirty sensor.

Wonderful image Chris! The wildflowers and green hillside is set off beautifully against the hard rock and structure. Love the birds!
This is an excellent advert for PS to illustrate how an under-exposed image can be rescued! :-)

Hi Chris,
I really liked seeing both this and the one below. I sure can see the nice optics at work here! Why the coloring on the original? Was it on auto and it read the sky? (and you don't have the 'highlights and shadows' filter in PS 8, I remember you're mentioning this before)
GREAT job you did in PS! The detail is spectacular! Looks 3D in a way. The hill in the background on the left is so much lighter than the rest, it creates an 'optical illusion' almost! Amazing depth!
Wonderful clarity and focus. Great colors!
Lori :)
