i like the dof .. it shows the depth very well.
a table is a solid support!! however, it's not as flexible as a tripod.
it's all SKILLS gained by PRACTICING! once you get used to a tripod it becomes a part of the camera. start now.

well Riny, the camera was placed on the table for support, three table lamps (60 watts each)for lighting. Shutter Speed: 1/400, Aperture 5.0, ISO: 400, Lens: 105.0 mm, Flash: Off, White Balance: Auto, Manual Focus, Drive Mode: Continuous shooting..

Rawabi, I thought it look lke shampoo (or it could be beer :-) Really nice job. Shampoo bubbles are nice and cooperative because the take their time and pose for you.
P.S A table is nothing more than a really large tripod - you will eventually use one.

I'm starting to get a bit more comfortable with the lens.. :) I don't hand hold it at all..!! I place it on the table for support..!
