Midsummer Eve is the thing all people here in the north are waiting for. It?s on Friday. Maybe that inspired me ... then people get drunk (not me of course) and ... and ... you know :)

I achieved exactly what I wanted when I shot this Gerbera. I wanted a sullen moody effect, with the brown centre "sunken" which would have allowed the smaller centre petals to stand out more. With "Back" I like what I got :-)
I will re-shoot this Gerbera today against my NEW backdrop! Yup, finally got hold of that piece of black velvet! Now to keep it away from all cat hair!
And can you believe it ... when I bought the Cream Gerbera, I actually ignored the pink ones! Must have had an "off" day!

As with your previous image I think just a litle more exposure,the centre of the flower is lost in shadow.Otherwise an excellent image.

I treated myself to some rosebuds this morning - will be trying them tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will be able to capture their beauty!
I would give anything to be able to walk into a nursery filled with colour!

Couldn't help but think of you today as I walked through the Rose Garden at Avebury Manor, the heavenly scent of old English roses filling the balmy air, whilst thousands of shades of PINK surrounded me!!
