About I have a shadow on the Missy's nose (that's the horse!), that I know detracts from the image. Other than that, what do you think?

Misty looks totally focused on that cowboy..ready to explode maybe. Having witnessed this same thing several times I know the look of tension, and apprehension well, the eyes, ears and tight mouth speak volumes to me. The calming hand on the neck tells its own story here. Great capture!

Hi Dawn. I didn't know any info about the horse in particular when I saw it. Knowing that now, I can see where the rider may be trying to convey some calming thoughts to her with his hand on her neck.

Regards,

Phillip, this is the first time Misty was going to be mounted (part of starting or breaking a horse). I was after the interplay of Misty's expression and the calm and careful approach of the rider (my partner). The hand and the look tell it all for me.

If the person is about to mount his horse, I would like to have seen him mounting from the other side as to get a shot of his face as well. I'm not sure however; if the brim of his hat would have allowed enough light from above to light his face. You would have gotten a chance to see more of the saddle as well.
