I like this image.. don't agree with Andreas at all...the "birds" stand out in the sea of gray color... the only thing I wish would be that you could have zoomed in more on the fake birds.. I also think that if they were real birds, well it would just be another photo of birds :) good worok

Hi Verena, The fact that they are mock-ups in stead of real birds is excellent. It adds a surprising element to this shot. The extreme off centered composition works for me, but maybe it is a bit too excessive? None the less a very surprising and interesting shot. The subdued light created difficult circumstances, but still a very good and creative capture! I also like the faint use of colour, in otherwise a near B&W image. Very good one!
Cheers,
Hugo

Now that you tell me I can see the other white birds as well... got a better impression of the scale of the sculptures now.

Hi Andreas,
still it looks you gave me a very good rating, thanks for that!
Sorry for boring you with a photo which is not able to present the fascination of the motive;)
Some background info, one of the greatest painting artist in Finland, Pekka Halonen, changed a peninsula into a paradies for an artist and this sculpture is visible in the Tuusula lake if you stand in front of this house.
It looked great too me, but it was quite hard to show this fascination on a photo, anyway I tried it.
Cheers, Verena

Hi Hermen,
thanks for commenting, if you check the photo again, there are also two other birds, very small ones, close to the sculpture, but also there only by luck :)
Cheers, Verena

This is a very difficult image to comment on, even more so to make suggestions how to improve. The large water area give it a kind of blurry look (yes, I know, it is NOT blurry, however, it looks a bit like this), again the water area make this one a photo of not so many contrasts (the water can be seen as a single gray area) and the birds look just what they are: artifical. To be honest: Not my personal taste. The rating I gave is according to the other photos in your portfolio. Cheers, Andreas

Maybe the image would be more interesting if there were some real birds in it as well ? Now that I write this, I believe there is a real bird - maybe a duck? - in the upper left corner, but it is very small. On the other hand, to get birds posing for you in the correct position, you've got a hope... Probably not much of a help, but these were my thoughts when looking at your photo :)
