Say... isn't that a title from that fellow Tim that grew up about five miles east of where I live? :-))
Good photo, Rebecca. The bird makes it for me. The way he is looking down (for food no doubt)it appears as if he is showing sadness.

Rebecca, thanks for your kind comments on my portfolio. I checked back here a few minutes ago and found that the comments I made earlier about this photo apparently did not register! I don't know why. Anyway, I said something like this: I'm not sure how I feel about the soft focus, but I do like the way the light glows in this photo. Furthermore, I think the composition is just great. I especially like the bird and the tilt of the headstone the bird is perched upon. Great shot.

However you achieved this soft focus is spectacular Rebecca. The soft green trees are gently swaying in the summer breeze. The sunlight has caught the tops of the wild flowers and the tombstones have a heavenly marble quality instead of old rough stone. The blown out colour of the grass really works here as it fits the whole image. The pièce de résistance: the bird, its pose and the lovely glow around him. Wonderful capture.

"Nevermore" quoth the... er... brown bird! :) This came out beautifully, Rebecca - not really soft focus, though, more of a diffuse glow that fits the mood perfectly! It looks almost as though the bird is reading the inscription on the stone below... Great title on this and the previous one, too!
