About Crys shot against black velvet with natural light on a freezing Winter's morning.

Yes, I can see the hot spots :-)) Ignore them ... OK? :-))

I went looking for reflectors today - nada, zilch in the shops :-( Will be making my own this weekend :-) I'm going to cover some coruplas with gold mylar and see if that will help me get overall lighting.

Hello girlfriend :-))

That petal was actually hiding the stem .. which I thought was great. Once I posted the image, I saw how dull the petal looked. But knowing my cloning abilities are basically limited to removing cat hair and small dust spectacles, I wouldn't dream of attempting to clone out such a big part. Yes, of course I should have just pulled the darn thing off before shooting it :-))

Have a great weekend Elisa - when are you going to shoot those fabulous swans again?

Hi Arwa

I try to put my flowers as high as possible and out of reach of my cats (and their paws as they like swatting at it!) and I have now learned to inspect them carefully before photographing ... but I sometimes do miss a stray hair which I have now become an expert at cloning out!

Wow, this is really three dimensional. Lovely lighting and detail. I don't think there are any hot spots. Those are highlights. Great work. Good luck with the reflector. Don.

Very nice flower with good detail! (and you're freezing there?)

Gold mylar is great stuff! You'll like it.
