Nice capture Chris. I like your composition. The head fills the frame well and the eye on the third. You have had a very productive few days. Regards John

Hello Keith, Thank you for your kind comments! Actually I made a mistake when loading this up!! Still can't get used to the new menus! This was really taken on full zoom with my 70-300mm lens. I've now changed the picture info. Thanks again, Chris

Hi Chris, I have one very similar to this, but I used a 100mm lens.... didnt fancy getting within a yard or two of the beak and tallons.
Very nice details

Over here they are hawks, our buzzards are very ugly. Great capture, so close. Don.

Hi Chris, eventhough it's "only" a common buzzard, I think the crop and the close up are fabulous. Very dynamic pose, and a true photogenic creature. Excellent shot. I love these birds of prey. The DOF could've been a tad wider, as the feathers in its neck are already out of focus, but on the other hand, it also introduces a good power to the portrait. Very well captured.
Cheers,
Hugo

Great shot Chris. Birds of prey have that "don't mess with me look" and are all business. I'd hate to be a rodent with one of them around. Well captured. Lou

Aai jaai jaai! (That's a commonly used Afrikaans expression)
I think your bird series is going to give your cottage series a serious run for the money.
This is a great boy - fabulous capture of details. I see a strong expression in that eye and that half open beak says "Back off Buster" :-))
Great stuff Chris - more!!!! :-)
