Rather cheeky of me to try to end your poem, Chris, but I thought the above fitted with the mood. This view has that magic element--an almost stereoscopic sense of depth. How inviting! And how well you've captured that elusive early twilight mood.

Hello Chris,This is the most beautiful image,talk about picture postcard, and truly NO cars or wires!!!The clear crisp detail is really amazing.You sure are blessed to live in such a gorgeous and diverse area,and not to mention blessed to own a D70.Sorry no good at poetry but I am sure you could finish it most admirably.I read your comments and think I bet he gives a wonderful sermon,you have a great sense of humour and SO good with words.

Believe me, Linn, I know how fortunate I am to live where I do! Beacuse of the way my own village is built, I am just a five minute walk from the centre, with its shops, library and churches, and yet just a five minute walk the other way to open countryside.
Within a little over an hour in the car, I can visit two different coastlines and two National Parks ~ Dartmoor and Exmoor. I'm less than 40 minutes away from Wells, with its beautiful cathedral and moat and within 20-30 minutes of several National Trust properties, all with magnificent houses and gardens.
I am truly blessed ~ and I know it! So it's a very great privilege and pleasure to share some of the beautiful scenes from my little corner of the world with friendly UF users like yourself.

The best way out of your predicament is to explain to Margaret, (using as much gobbledy gook and archaic legalese as possible), that these cottages are all owned by the National Trust and there's a 953 year long waiting list for any of them! By which time the hollyhocks will have died off and the thatch will need repairing at exorbitant expense to the tenant!

I don't have a way with words Chris. The picture itself is poetry. Balanced and colourful it brings out all the old english charm.
BTW i'm in BEEG trouble over my comment about Carole's camera. Margaret says she's got a digital camera so now she wants one of these cottages! Gotta find a way out of this one.
