About Just loved the way the house are all piled up on top of each other and the boats are sittin' there waitin' for the water! (Taken with my ill-fated Nikon before it went home for repairs!!)

Beautiful view and very tastefully composed! Interesting work too with the mix of sepia and colours.

Hi Chris, Creative tune up. The selective colour works fine for me, and I do like the way the houses are all piled up too. Very good shot! Maybe a B&W background in stead of the current sepia tone would've emphasised the line of boats better.

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks again, Roger! I thought this might cause something of a divide! Some seem to love the coloured bits, and others wish they weren't there. I'm gradually coming round to your point of view, and will probably redo it for my own benefit.
Kind regards, Chris

Love the sepia tones, but could do without the "touch of colour." If it had been consistently sepia, it would have had an almost ageless look, as there is almost nothing that could date the photograph later than when the houses were built!

Ooh its a long time since I was down there, probably about 20 years now. I should make a return visit sometime.

I like the way you have selectively desaturated and sepia coloured the buildings leaving the boats intact.

The telephoto lens has really compressed the image, giving a feeling of almost a single wall of houses.

Love it.

Keith

Really like the image Chris, great comp, but Im not sure Im that keen on the colour boats.
I find that I really want to concentrate on the fine details in the village and my eye gets distracted by the flash of colour at the bottom.
Would love to see it as a pure BW.
Hope your D100 isnt suffering from something terminal!
Cheers

Love the sepia tones, with the touch of color. Bet the mud is deep around these boats. Very nice. Don.
