About This morning the USS Ronald Reagan finally arrived at her new home port in San Diego. Too bad our typical gray overcast hadn't cleared off, but that is the way it is. Aperture priority mode used, actual shutter speed was 1/320.

George

Thanks for your nice comment on my "James Bond
Girl". I paged through your portfolio and really
enjoyed the nautical themes you captured. I am a
former US Navy man and spent time on the USS
Randolph...CVS 15. There are so many interesting
works on usefilm it is difficult to see all of
them...thanks for the plug for my trusty F1 !!!

A magnficent ship, nicely captured. I recently saw it at anchor in San Diego, from the deck of the Midway, now a most impressive "museum."

Thank you so much for the comment. I tried cropping to remove the buildings, but I saw that it also removed the landmarks that identified San Diego and Coronado. It also removed the frame of reference for judging scale, a quality I feel is sometimes important. I'll be posting additional images that show the ship moving through the channel.

Grorge, not a bad shot but I think if you crop off the top of the picture taking out the buildings and far shore line it would make for a stronger image.
Anchors aweigh my boys, anghors aweigh.
Being an old salty dog, shots like these bring back memories.

Actually, George, I think the grey day matches the battleship grey of the aircraft carrier very well. Impressive piece of hardware!
