The result from the long exposure here is very nice. The bright - lighted flags looks motioned and even strongly the clarity on the most of them is very good. Effective image.

Mark,

Composition is OK. I am sure if light situation was not difficult and the building is completely visible this could be a masterpiece. You could try from other angle too if not already tried.

Thanks for sharing.

Very interesting Mark, great idea and it worked out very well. Nice to be young and have steady hands. Don.

Interesting idea, Erik. I actually wanted the building in there originally to show the stability of the shot and that the flag blur was from wind and not my shaky hands. I guess the flagpoles do that as well.

Thanks for the input, Jim. I actually have several angles on this and felt that this was the best overall picture. I was handicapped by not having a tripod with me so getting a fixed picture with the right blur was a challenge.

Next time, tripod, tripod, tripod!

Nice work. I think there would be more drama to the image if you cropped out the building and focused soley on the flags in perspective. Too many elements otherwise.
There's a federal building near my house with tons of flags. I've been thinkng of shooting them at night also.

Great job on the exposure and capturing the motion blur. I might have moved around to more clearly capture the arc of flag poles. I suppose multiple shots from different vantage points would help, but thats not to say this isn't the best angle. The repetition of form and color works very well in this photo. Nicely done.
