There are more of these lovelies to come, but right now I am concentrating on getting the photos I took of my Dad's Birthday Bash online and out to family. I grew up in this area, the sad thing, they use to offer tours of the homes...inside...and I never took advantage of it!! I am one of those unique individuals that loves the heat of the Florida, during the summer..it is also the time for those grand storm clouds, lol.

The "Lieca" is now an irrelevant rich man's toy. The only camera to have is a Panasonic DMC-FZ10. What? Me prejudiced? Well, maybe. But seriously, when did you buy this lovely summer home? Such a nice place to have to escape the Florida heat. Can I come visit?

Gloria
The Lieca is the camera shot by the late Henri Cartier-Bresson. who died at age 95 last Monday in France. He is the person responsible for the term " the decisive moment ". It is considered to be the quietest 35 MMM camera because it was a leaf shutter rangerfinder type camera. Lieca still makes cameras and even has a line of digitals. However you and I will probably continue to shot Nikon.

Hi Jim...what is a Lieca? I have started making a list of future accesories I need, lol....and this sounds important, as I had so much fun photographing the homes and I plan on going back next summer to get all the ones I missed....Gloria

You are correct Christine...the castle is located on Heart Island and was being built as a tribute Mrs Boldt...who died before it was completed, and with her death, her husband lost all interest in the project. It fell to ruins, until donations and the bridge authority, began to restore it. I have some photos from the water, but did not have the time to take the tour....next summer, lol!!

Fantastic shot Gloria. They really are glorious homes. I remember from when I was there that some of the boat houses were bigger that most homes. Did you get a shot of the castle. I am trying to remember the story behind it, something about him building it for his new bride and then she died before it was finished or something.
