Is there no end of old buildings where you live? Actually they are all over rural Virginia and I love them. Another nice shot. Del.

Manuel, you're right. My cloning sucks! lol. I hadn't cropped, which is one bad thing in this case. I tried cropping out the house instead of cloning, and took out the shadow you see.. and you're right. It is better. I may pull this one and repost, but probably not. This is what I use this sight for. To learn. Thanks for the advice. Well taken :)

Reminds me of something I had to memorize as a child: "He maketh me to lie down in black pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters." Or something like that. A veritable black pastoral paradise.

Nice tonal range in this shot. I like the way the smokehouse/corn crib is illuminated by the late afternoon sun. It's also placed right on the lower right 3rd cross hairs. Excellent job.
P.S. My White on Black is a shot of a burning 27-watt florescent bulb in my computer room ceiling fan light fixture. It puts out 100 watts of light.

Okay Rebecca..here goes! Like the subject matter but I agree with the repetative cloning...takes a bit of practice and I still don't have it completely. Another suggestion is to look at the cropping. The black shadow on the bottom left is a little distracting. And, maybe its my eyes, but does it look a little crooked to you? What would it look like with the background tinted also?
I think we understand each other already and I know you will take these comments openly.
Cheers
Manu

Wonderful shot! Great B&W tones and I am a sucker for old wooden structures, great textures. Only problem is that your cloning job is too noticable - when cloning, use a soft brush and try selecting different areas with the same tones to blend it better - that would avoid the repetitive pattern that makes cloning noticable. Great work.

I love how you seem to be able to bring out this very slight rose hue in many of your B/W photos. It adds another soft and airy quality to the grass. The tonal range and light is quite superb Poe.
