...so on a day where inspriration had deserted me I figured that this one would be an easy one. Not as easy as I had thought. Under multiple light and exposure scenarios, I ended up taking dozens of shots of this particular "allium cepa" until I was able to get a few pictures that looked somewhat reasonable. My sister-in-law called to visit at the house and witnessed this event. She is now under no illusion any more that I should be locked up (for my own protection of course).
This is only picture #5 in my (at least) 31 series portfolio. Hopefully, todays lack of creativity will not be present too often in the future. At the end of the day though, I am reasonably pleased with this. I think the colours and textures are pretty well represented and I can almost smell it! In fact, I can still smell it on my hands, so there you go! By the way, I played with a square crop, but ended up prefering the 10x8 presented here.
I'm sorry to say that despite trying my best to avoid it, an onion *was* seriously injured during this photo shoot...
I agree with difficulties in making this shot; I have one which is almost identical in my Natural Abstract portfolio. here what I need is some contrast and better light
