About This image was taken about quarter of an hour before dawn with the moon setting in the west behind light cloud. Little Mell Fell can be seen looming out of the low mist and the pre-dawn glow has illuminated the sky enough to show the clouds. I used a 3 stop soft ND grad to try to tone down the moon but the two minute exposure meant that the moon moved quite a lot and so it appears oblong and with no surface detail.

Reading the comments of this photograph I've realized I'm not the first one getting absolutely amazed with this photograph. The only drawback I can find is the slow size you used to upload the picture. I would like to see this as big as possible . Congratulations for a perfect job!.

Levent, thanks for the comment. No, I didn't need to use a coloured filter for this image. Pre-dawn, the light is very blue and if you under-expose the image by 1 to 1.5 stops, you'll get this blue tone unless you use an 81 series warm-up to give a more daylight balanced light.
