About Part way round the lake, (just about where I was when I took the shot with the swans in), there is a steeply-rising path to a folly at the top of the hill and it was from that amazing vantage point that I took this 'bird's eye view'!

If I'd had more time I'd have stayed there a lot longer and just drank it all in. The view, I mean, not the lake! :-)) But time was short, so I took a few shots and shot on round!

How I'd love to have just 'taken off' and soared above the lake and trees for a few minutes! Have you ever wanted to do that, or am I just a bit wierd?! :-) (Don't answer that!!)

Have a good weekend one and all!

Best regards,

Chris

I love this shot. Especially the way the trees are set on their own little island. I've never seen that... it's gorgeous. Oh to be a bird for a few minutes just to cruise around. Beautiful

Also a pleasing composition and scenic, but I'd give this edge to the horizontal for it's wider perspective. I think vertical landscapes are tough to do-- I've done some myself. I guess the human eye primarily sees more width than height. That said, I guess we both know that when the vertical works it can be very effective. I find myself using square images a lot lately-- don't know exactly why, but it may be a spin-off of the 4/3 digital format? Cheers. Craig

Hi Chris,

this is a great autumn composition - perhaps I would crop a little bit the foreground. But the colors and scene is incredible.

Far be it from to disagree with a lady?!! Especially a Danish one!! :-)
But my dictionary, (and it's a big fat one, made in Oxford no less!!), says ~ and I quote:
"art?noun?the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as a painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power?"
Couldn't have put it better myself!! As I see it, that describes what you're doing perfectly, Merete!! :-)
Best regards?

;-) I know the feeling of wanting to soar!!!!!!!! That's why I always paint some birds in my painting..I believe...like the last one I uploaded.. To soar or fly is also to be free...Hm... LOL...enough analyzing...you're silly anyways!! ;-)
I have been siting here with my coat on waiting for you to continuing the trip round the lake..mmmmmmmmmmm..it's wonderfull...thank you.
Enjoy your weekend as well... and be good!! ;-)
Hugs..
Merete
PS. I do not consider any of my work to be art!!!!!!!! I think art is..something different... deeper... better...

Hey, John, I'm just back from an excellent men's breakfast at our church. 44 men, (over half of which don't come to church!), really good food, and a brillaint talk on Israel past and present. What a great start to the day!
Have an excellent Sunday, my friend! Please give my regards to your pastor ~ I'd love to meet you both!!

Think it would be the greatest thrill!Did parasail once and it was incredible!!!!!
Anyway about the pic!....Beautiful Birds eye view!
The golden tree really sets off the composition Chris! The dark branches in the foreground frame the scene very nicely!Just beautiful!
If You put Your nose against the monitor You can get the feeling of flying over ther lake!!Does that make Me wierd?????LOL
Take care Pastor!
My best.................JOHN

Chris, you sound like an ideal candidate for a paraglider with engine strapped on your back. They're lots of fun--nearest thing to being a bird. Safest thing in the air--a flying parachute!
