Debbie, As an old friend, take it from me. Your photography has come a long way in a very short space of time - something of which you should be justly proud. You are turning in some excellent work already - that's not an excuse for not trying more and trying harder (which I am sure you will always do), just keep doing it. Two of the main things I look for each time I log in to Usefilm are a) are there any new John Shepherd's and b) are there any new Debbie Groff's! There are many of us that wish we could learn and progress as quickly as you have done.
BTW, on the above, this shows you've got a good eye - keep using it.

That goes for me too! This is my favorite of as yet. I do love abstracts. You should give this subject lots of time!
Debbie, if you suck, then I hope I suck like you.

Deb,Deb,Deb-when shoting slides with a canon, always go 1/2 f-stop over what is needed-its a quirk with canon-it works. Your photos have improved immenseley over the last few months

Oh well, detlef. I got my very first SLR camera exactly 1 yr. ago this month. It was a manual Vivitar. Then 6 mo. later the Canon. Looked at at least a few thousand pictures and read at least 2 doz. books on photography. I'm understandin' what I'm reading while I'm reading. I can see things in photos and 1/2 way guess what was and wasn't done. But as for my own photography...Well....maybe in another year? My biggest problem I guess is focus. And with slide film it's underexposure. I sure do love trying and it's true I have no set pattern or favorite type of photography yet. Just love doing it. Thanks for your kind comments and helping me to laff at myself. Some people just "suck" at this type of hobby and I SHALL NOT be one of those forever?:)
