4 second exposure

My friend here didn't seem to mind me getting within 15-20 ft. of him, and stood perfectly still so I could get a 4 second exposure of him and the scene we were both enjoying :)

Very nice! There's enough detail in the water to make it interesting rather than nondescript. The lighting everywhere is great. The sunset and the gull are the perfect counterbalance in the composition.

Hi Cheryl - thanks for the compliment. The hues and saturation are original to the image - there was a slight tonal adjustment to set correct highlight and shadow points, the gull was slightly lightened, and the entire image was sharpened.

Chris, this photo thumbnail does no justice to the detail in the photo. That sunset is amazing (enhancements?). Very peaceful and pleasant.

Lee - this guy barely moved for almost 10 minutes. I must have taken 10-20 shots with the gull in the frame. A very agreeable bird!!

4 seconds..... that is a long time for the bird to stand still.
The results are awesome, great colors in the rocks, water and the sky.
I like the soft blur of the water from the long exposure.
The composition brings me to the rock and bird and then lets me slowly drift to the sea and sky.
A very quality image....well done.

Hi Roberto, thanks for your comments. This was a very sucessful night for, and I am defiantly glad I left work early to make it out to this location in time to set-up for the grand sunset that was to follow.
