Lovely detail in this shot, and the shutter speed left the water with a great look to it.

Thanks as always Toni for your kind comments on my work. Mirror lockup is a custom function. It's mainly used for long telephoto work but can be used for any kind of photograph really. When you enable it, it flips the mirror up on the 20D (Or opens the back plate on a film slr), takes the photograph, then once the photograph is taken, flips the mirror down. It eliminates the mirror slap so in theory, removes all camera shake from the photograph. Thats the easiest way to explain it. So when set with a self timer, it's pretty much the same as using a cable release :)

Have a great Christmas :)

Gorgeous! Great framing, and I love how the brown tones of the rocks appear also in the falls amid the shades of white. What is mirror lockup?

I always like the effect of long exposure time of the waterfalls on a picture, but in yours, you added something more with this rocks in the foreground!! Congrats Howie

Wow Howie. This is one stunning shot. The clarity of the rocks in the foreground gives it so much punch. Using the mirror lock up for that exposure certainly helped in maintaining the sharpness. Thanks for sharing such a powerful image.
