About Haven't been able to get out and take any pics for a couple of days so I took this one through the window at the restaurant. Which explains why it's a little soft. This guy is all puffed up, trying to stay warm during our current cold spell.

Focal Length 400 mm.
Shutter Speed 1/90 sec.

Enjoy

Thanks for the comment Sid. The Tamaron 200-400 F/5.6 lens is OK, in my opinion (It's got good glass). I can't give you much info on the autofus because I focus manually when using it. It is a little rough in low light situations and it is hard to see. When you set the lens to infinity it's always a hit or miss shot. Sometimes you get a nice clear shot, sometimes you don't. It is excellent when focusing on close subjects (like the birds) or basically anything below infinity. It is a long lens when extended and very shaky, even with the didicated tripod mount. A tripod is a must as well as remote shutter release and the use of mirror lockup. On the plus side it only costs around $500.00 US. Hope this info helps:)

great bird pics.. i am planning to get a tamaron 100-400 and i would like to know how good it is? How is the auto focusing and how is it working in low light conditions?

Soft but superb. Fantastic capture. Even the little bird is feeling the cold.

What a great shot. I would not have known that this was taken through a window. That's a hell of a lens!!

My wife is a speech-language therapists and she loved the scientific name of the mocking bird.

Beautiful shot, Jim! That's a bird we don't see here, so it's doubly of interest.
