About i've been scanning photos from weddings i've shot to put on a website i'm having built for my photo business. Vicki is a great friend & fellow photographer so shooting her wedding was a blast. I'm really open to feedback & critiques with these photos, as i'm charging money to take them for people, so i'm interested to hear what others who aren't attached to them in any way think. Thanks all. :O)

I'm totally not into wedding photography and usually the shots bore me to dead, but this one is refreshing, full of life, well composed and really different!
BRAVO!!!

hi jennifer.... i see you've branched out into weddings... good work for sure. the photos you have on display are all quite nice, and as i'm not an expert on this type of photography, that's all i can add. lots of responsibility in this line of work tho, and i'm sure you're up to it.

best wishes and good luck with your new business.

feedback - continue to follow you heart and eye .. it's perfect, and please don't change becauase someone may say some rule or "must be this way" kind of thing .. your image continually have life, no matter what you point the camera at .. - all i would say as a teacher (and i am one) is grow more into Jennifer as a photographer .. she's doing just fine...

I like the blurry background and the diagonal composition. The image really works Jennifer.

I really like the diagnal composition. The background makes it look like the world is spinning around her yet she is still and calm. This to me add to the shot because weddings can be very hectic. Wonderful job!

hi mark - thanks for your comment. I agree that my eye does get pulled down the dominating whiteness of her dress - some of that happened in the scanning process as it wasn't so blown-out in the photo, although still very white. I've just been given a new scanner so i'm on a steep learning curve at the moment. And i find that's one of the huge challenges of shooting weddings - so many women wear these white dresses & it's difficult to not have them over-power the photos & also to capture some detail in them without getting everything else too dark. Rats, too bad the tradition wasn't grey! ha, ha.

The dress is what dominates the photo. It's so white, it blocks out, but it's not a problem with me.

thanks, stephen. Ya, i still love shooting film & the amazing quality it produces, although i find i rarely shoot it any more, mostly just for paying jobs, like weddings. I live so remotely that shooting film is a bit of a hassle - i send all my film off to pro-lab in vancouver to be processed & printed - which gets to be costly. It's nice when i get to charge others for that service!! Digital's so great for experimenting & for the ability to get it online & work it in ps, & to me, although it's photography as well of course, it's like working in a different medium - like how acrylic & oils are so different for painters & yet they're both still paint. It's great to get to play & create with more & different tools!

I love the blur of the background and the sharpness of the bride. Very nice! Tara

This is wonderful. Love the sense of movement. Looks like you panned the shot and you did well to capture her so sharply. I think the B&W emphasizes this sense of movement and the camera tilt works well to create an interesting diagonal . Love it!
