Thanks alot Elena, I appreciate your comment. The lighting, I only use household lights. My main ones are either :
a) Just the light from the ceiling fixture which is a four way spot light so it doesn't create harsh shadows.
b) Just a simple reading lamp diffused with paper.
c) A combination of them both.
Also sometimes when the image looks flat I'll use my pocket torch to add a little side lighting.
Thanks.

Wow! Amazing shot. Excellent lighting (what kind of light do you use? I see it's not a flash). Perfect DOF. I love it... Lena

Great composition, I think the water droplets were a really good idea adding definition to the edges of the bud. Good work not getting any glare off the card. Thanks for your comments. David

Thanks James, to get my signature on I simply scanned a sig I scibbled on a bit of paper using a thick black marker pen. Then I opened it in Photoshop, selected the writing part using the lasso tool, copied and pasted to a trasparent layer and saved it. Hope it helps.

Excellent macro here James. Great detail and DOF. Colours are superb. The strong contrasty background really helps pull the colours out of the flower. Superb!
