About Oversaturated really -- but it takes it into a fantasy realm with little painterly texture added. This is the first of a 3-part experiment and your opinion would be most helpful if you could simply indicate which version you prefer of the three.

I think someone else made that comment too, about the cropping -- which I also did intentionally -- but it is not easy to backtrack at this stage and add it back in with all the transformation since the crop. Thanks much for the comment and suggestion. I do appreciate observations and suggestions!

I love the detail and the colors in this picture, one little thing, I would've tried to include the full second flower (the one in the bottom).

Your remake of this picture is just right. With this one the green competes for interest with the beautiful blooms and water drops. Beautiful work. Don.

Very beautiful. Great capture with the rain drops and the dark background really brings out the color of the lillies.

Excellent capture of this beautiful flower Evelyn
I prefer this one, showing all the splendor of this flower on a natural way
Many thanks for commenting "Death sea panorama"
when reducing the size specially in a panorama picture ,the quality decreases a lot, making hard to notice the details more clearly
My best regards

You are pretty funny, Margaret! But yes, it does look like a tree reflected now that you mention it! Hmmm -- that could be lots of fun to tease images in or out of. Good insight and imagination. Where do you get your tablets?

Evelyn I like this one the best. I like the colours and water droplets, it is colourful and fresh. I had to play with/lighten it up, the bit behind the flowers looked like a reflected scene, perhaps monkey [albeit very large compared to the tree LOL]in t he trees. WHen I lightened it still looked like an interesting reflected scene, - perhaps I should take my tablets LOL.
Margaret
THank you for your very kind comment

Thank you, Laura, for checking out all 3 and registering your opinion! I think your favorite has been the overall group favorite so far as well -- Go figure? ;D

This is lovely. I like the strong contrast in colors. Details and lighting are good.

As I've already hinted, this is my favorite of the three: Terrific light and composition, with the bonus of color even if it's overdone. The added texture takes it into the realm of art, and I wouldn't expect slavish reproduction of nature as it is, but rather as you've interpreted it.

Three different versions for three different purposes, but let's face it - none would have worked if the initial photo had been crap. Well done!

Perfecto - for me anyway. Guess darker is what I meant so that the emerald didn't jump out at you. But that's just me - when you adjusted you left the richness of the green, but now the flowers appear to really stand out. Both versions are beautiful - and your work (like Subhash's and so many more) is really inspiring. There is magic being made with cameras out there! Thanks you so much for sharing. Jan

Thanks so much for your evaluation, Jan! Your opinion and comment is MUCH appreciated; but I am unsure . . . are you saying that the background leaves should be a bit blurry, perhaps, so the focus is just on the flowers? Darker perhaps? Like this?

Jan Graziano   {K:17920} 4/12/2005
I like the floral colors in this one (especially as I didn't have a clue about the colors of these flowers), but would be interesting to see if just a little softer green would have been possible on the background, so that there is no distraction from the lovely flowers. The black and white is lovely, but I think that I like this one the best. Then again - I love color! Your new friend - Jan
