On the other hand, the illusion of clouds created by the shadows on the field make up for it. Maybe I have to reconsider, as a little voice, deep in my heart tells me it is a beautiful shot...

Come out little voice, speak up!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Chris, From now on, I simply refuse to look at photos without a sky, including my own. It's an outrage, I say!

Just lovely, Chris. Even without clouds :-) It is interesting to see the small walled fields and the rolling landscape. Well done! Larry

oh wow chris.... it's been way too long since i last visited your portfolio.... your shots always put me right there at the scene...... i flew over these kind of places back in 89 and always promised myself i would come back and take a nice slow trip through this countryside, but i never seem to get past the front door these days...lol........
your work is absolutely incredible... keep posting them for me..... gives me an escape from my home town for a short time.....
cheers

It seems to be in Tuscany, but perhaps when you see the Tuscany you think to United Kingdom......nearly the same history!!!!!
But green dominates as well!!!!
Wonderful view indeed,Chris,best regards!!!

always nice to get some cloud shadows on a landscape - adds an extra dimension to the shot.

There may be no clouds but they certainly leave their mark! Stunning greens here Chris, and the high viewpoint works very well to give a lovely sense of space and tranquillity. Great detail throughout the image, but especially in the trees in the foreground which are nicely silhouetted against the fields. Wonderful verdant shot Chris!!!

I'm really amazed looking at your photos.
Colour, details... everythings pops out of my monitor.

I think Nature helps a lot but "compliments for the photographer". Fabio

Beautiful landscape! I like the geometrical patterns created by the different lines cutting accross the field. The light and DOF are abolutely dead on! Nice composition -- Kind regards, Rafael

There may not be any sky but clouds and sun are on the ground. Beautiful play of light and shadow. Reminds of a shot by Alastair. It's starting to dawn on me that these homes may actually belong to very rich people. They look so well manicured with what appears to be grass instead of crops on the ground. The thought of mowing that is scary. Sheep? Anyway, the image looks great. Very well exposed, I can even see the detail far back in the shadows.

A beautiful scene - I love the feeling of depth. I know what you mean about the loss of detail in processing for the web. Outstanding shot.

Great lighting here, Chris! Nice to see the sunlit fields and the shadows of the clouds over some, with the darker greens in the background.
